1977-88 Volunteer and assistent in theatre and opera to directors Rudolf Noelte, Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, Harry Kupfer, David Esrig, Joachim Herz and Ernst Wendt.
1982-87  Studies philosophy at the Jesuit University of Philosophy in Munich. M. A. thesis on Wagner's "Ring".
1984-89 Studies at the Munich Film Academy (HFF), feature film dpt.
1985-91 Studies conducting and phenomenology of music with Sergiu Celibidache in Munich, Mainz, and Paris.
Since 1999 Lecturer in directing and producing at the Theatre Academy of Burghausen.
